LVMH Prize-winner Marine Serre made her triumphant runway debut this week. Her AW18 collection lived up to the hype and then some. And it is no small feat for a young designer to stand out in Paris, considering the number of big brands showing.
One top might have born the phrase “Futurewear” but Serre's aesthetic feels ripe for now. Mixing early Margiela references with a penchant for utilitarian details, the designer also created one-of-a-kind pieces from vintage silk scarves.
With a strong point of view and commendable stance on upcycling, Serre has instantly become a new Paris favourite.
