Since I have started working as a fashion illustrator I have always been fascinated by Lou Dalton's work. Her relaxed silhouette and wise use of colour have always intrigued me and influenced my illustrations. So it is with great pleasure that I attended for the first time one of her shows on the first day of LFWM. It was also an unmissable chance for me to do some live sketching.
The presentation felt very intimate and private, with models sitting on little hay bales, in the middle of the piece. For her SS19 collection, Lou Dalton opens the doors of her ideal farm and returns to her sartorial roots.
It's a (dream!) wardrobe consisting of precious essentials, strong and authentic pieces proudly made in the UK. Knitwear designer John Smedley collaborated on the wonderful knit pieces of the collection.
A very special thanks to Adrian Gibson that kindly invited me to the presentation.
