For Spring/Summer 2019, Uniforme Paris, the high-end menswear brand launched in 2016 by creative duo Hugues Fauchard and Rémi Bats, introduced their new collection during a flawless presentation as part of the Paris Fashion Week official calendar. Before that, the young but more than promising brand had presented their collections only through lookbooks.
I really had an amazing time sketching during the presentation, as an illustrator this collection had everything I could have hoped for, including a bright colour palette and great attention to detail.
With smart historical and cultural references, the brand has always worked on the notion of heritage and the study of uniforms has become functional to their approach to design. Their SS19 collection is no less, as it draws inspiration from the merchant and military navy uniforms.
Uniforme Paris SS19 collection, titled "Hamptons Parano", tells the story of a bunch of fashionable friends spending a weekend in a luxurious mansion on the beach around New York City, with a bleary perception of reality.
The designers mention among their inspirations for the collection: American interior designer Dorothy Draper and French Artist Raoul Dufy, but also films like "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" by Terry Gilliam and "Funny Game" by Michael Haneke.
A very special thanks to all the models that posed for me during the presentation and above all to Hugues and Rémi for having me!
