Drawing during a catwalk show is always quite unpredictable, you never know how your sketch may turn out. This is a very quick illustration I did during the beautiful Fyodor Golan Spring/Summer 2019 show, the brand founded in 2011 by design duo Fyodor Podgorny and Golan Frydman.
The show was indeed quite inspiring, as usual, I really wished for more time to catch the beauty of more looks and details. The collection, "Lost and Found" is an exquisite mix and match of several elements from various eras, as if they are castaway objects found on beaches.
Sporty features, typical of the Fyodor Golan wardrobe, are here mixed with soft silks and embroidered elements, in order to create a new silhouette. As a confirmation of this, both male and female models are rocking the garments this season, showing that sportswear has no gender boundaries.
Among those abandoned elements of another time, or more of our childhood, there's also SEGA's Sonic The Hedgehog, that marks another popular collaboration for Fyodor Golan, now a sort of tradition for the brand along with other characters like My Little Pony or the Power Puff Girls.
The creative duo worked also with charity Plastic Oceans UK, collecting abandoned fishing nets, among the largest dangers to marine life, for the runway show set design, that wanted to recreate coral covered driftwood.
