This is a very quick sketch that I did during the Autumn/Winter 2019 C2H4 catwalk show at London Fashion Week Men's.
Founded by designer Yixi Chen, C2H4 debuted during New York Fashion Week with their Spring/Summer 2018 collection. The brand is all about the concept of chemistry, combining references from science and subversive culture. Just like chemists, C2H4 (which is the molecular formula for ethylene) mixes different substances to create new matters.
Their AW19 collection draws inspiration from F.M. Esfandiary, a transhumanism philosopher and futurist who believed that humanity will reach a turning point in 2030. So, the collection becomes a cumulation of futuristic patterns, creating a unique cutting-edge sartorial language in both techniques and materials.
