HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE comes back for the third time as part of the official Paris Fashion Week schedule and once again presented as an art performance by choreographer Daniel Ezralow.
Designer Satoski Kondo has been reworking for a while now the classic idea of the catwalk, reinventing season by season its value and bringing a breath of fresh air to fashion week.
The show could be considered as a lively ode to jazz music, with dancers and acrobats and a band playing live. Just like a jam session, the HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE Autumn/Winter 2020 collection is a wise mix and match, with vibrant colours and loose silhouettes, part of the DNA of the brand.
By the end of the show, some tuxedos were also presented: a formal menswear element through a contemporary key.
This sketch, created during the show, is part of my Paris Fashion Week AW20 live illustrated coverage for L'Officiel Hommes Italia.
