"Individually awesome, collectively powerful, statuesque yet extremely human. Reality is the starting point of my type of storytelling".
I had the extreme pleasure of being invited once again to the Off-White backstage a few hours prior to "Slightly Off", the Autumn/Winter 2020 fashion show, on Day 3 of Paris Fashion Week.
Entering the backstage, I was almost instantly drawn to the look worn by lovely Malika El Maslouhi, half tulle princess, half camo warrior, and then captured, with quick watercolour strokes, beautiful Liz Kennedy while rehearsing before the show.
The stellar cast included also Mariacarla Boscono, Karlie Kloss, Bella and Gigi Hadid (respectively opening and closing the show) and even their mother Yolanda, who rocked the runway in an amazing suit.
Virgil Abloh keeps creating his own path, slowly and (un)consciously distancing himself from the codes of streetwear, while approaching new hybrid-couture heights.
These sketches, created backstage, are part of my Paris Fashion Week AW20 illustrated coverage for L'Officiel Italia.
