“We need to be warmer, windproof, waterproof, heat-sensitive, environmentally sensitive."
Stepping into the venue of the Paria/FARZANEH Autumn/Winter 2020 fashion show, men were asked to sit on the left, while women on the right. As the curtain rises on the stage, we quickly understood that we were being invited to a traditional Iranian wedding ceremony, with a public announcement in Farsi and English as well.
Exploring the concept of ceremony and representation, Paria/FARZANEH admits we are not fully prepared for what tomorrow brings, environmentally speaking.
Her collection urges us to be ready and eco-conscious, presenting waterproof outerwear, in collaboration with Gore-Tex Infinium, while part of the garments was created recycling PET bottles and fishing nets.
This sketch, created during the show, is part of my London Fashion Week AW20 live illustrated coverage for L'Officiel Hommes Italia.
